Based on the final novel from John McGahern, one of Ireland’s greatest novelists who is called “the successor to James Joyce.”

“…feels like a moment frozen in time.” Loud and Clear Reviews

Joe and Kate returned from London five years ago (late ‘70s), to settle where Joe grew up, and are now fully a part of their small Irish lakeside town. They find a way of life in rural Ireland that has remained unchanged for a thousand years.  A society where neighbors help each other with all the big jobs of the farming year – lambing, shearing, saving hay, cutting turf – all ending in a harvest dance…along with visiting each other’s houses to share food, gossip and a few drams of whiskey. This was life before the Information Age.
